Nous avons un schéma de relation et ses dépendances fonctionnelles, comment pouvons nous atteindre un schéma relationnel sous la troisième forme normale ?

Normalisation par décomposition

  • Regrouper les attributs pertinents du schéma en première forme normale.
  • Déterminer les dépendances fonctionnelles (DF) minimales non dérivables.
  • Calculer les identifiants minimaux.
  • Dessiner le graphe des attributs et dépendances fonctionnelles (ADF) du schéma.
  • Marquer les dépendances fonctionnelles anormales (dont le déterminant n'est pas un identifiant).
  • Retirer les dépendances fonctionnelles anormales terminales, et en faire de chacune un schéma de relation.
  • Faire un schéma du noyau résiduel.
  • Regrouper les relations ayant le même identifiant, seulement si ce groupement est pertinent1.
  • Déterminer les contraintes d'inclusion (dont les clés étrangères). Donner un nom significatif aux relations.
