Aldébaran, T2 (La blonde) pl 12B
McNeil et Lazzarini suivent la mantrisse. Ils remarquent l’apparition d’un grand troupeau de grégoires juste après avoir perdu la trace de la mantrisse.
Ils sont unanimes dans leur conviction que le troupeau est une des formes de la mantrisse, et sur le fait qu’un énorme animal suit le troupeau sous l’eau. Par contre, Lazzarini est le seul qui soit persuadé que cet animal soit doué d’intelligence.
Une nuit, après un grand raffut comme si les grégoires étaient pris d’hystérie collective, le troupeau disparait.
