Depuis 2005 et sa formation à l'atelier Comics Factory, Bonaventure travaille comme coloriste et dessinateur indépendant. Il fait ses classes au sein des magazines BD Glop Glop, Cargo Zone et Pif Gadget tout en participant à divers projets, que ce soit en publicité ou en bande dessinée. En parallèle de ses activités de coloriste pour diverses maisons d'éditions, Bonaventure s'essaye au story-board et prend le temps de travailler sur ses propres projets BD.
