Une équipe de finlandais a réussi à passer la barrière des 6 GHz (overclocking d'un Pentium 4 560 à 3.6Ghz).

FSB: 333Mhz

Coefficient multiplicateur: 18



Un refroidissement à l'azote liquide (-196°C) qui permet de garder le processeur prescott sous les -90°C a été nécessaire.


Mais même s’il a pu tourner à 6 GHz, les benchmarks classiques démontrent qu’il n’est pas stable. Ils ont donc du redescendre le Prescott à 5.4Ghz, ce qui est tout de même extraordinaire.

Le japonais Memesama, célèbre pour ses records d'overclocking extrêmes (Prescott 3.2Ghz à 5.47Ghz...) a donc été devancé ;-)
