Célèbre par le fait que Federico Cesi (Rome, 1585 - Acquasparta, ), scientifique et naturaliste italien du début du XVIIe siècle, fondateur en 1603 de l'Académie des Lyncéens (Accademia dei Lincei) s'y retira et y mourut.
