Windisch: Windisch est une commune suisse du canton d'Argovie, située dans le district de Brugg.

Histoire

Du temps des Romains, la ville s'appelait Vindonissa. Une route romaine la rejoignait, passant par Aventicum, Petinesca et Solodurum. C'est là que fut fondé, au III^e siècle ou au début du IV^e siècle, un évêché qui fut transféré à Constance en 570. Saint Béat fut le premier évêque de ce siège. Windisch fut peut-être renommée Theodoricopolis à l'époque ostrogothique.
