Wodek est un chirurgien vinéen (La porte des Ames). Il fait partie des survivants du crash sur Ultima d'un de leurs vaisseaux intergalactiques. Il utilise la partie arrière du vaisseau comme laboratoire, là où des Vinéens qui, fuyant la destruction de Vinea, se trouvent encore en hibernation. Il aide à la survie de la population en prolongeant leurs vies au maximum, entre autre à l'aide d'implants artificiels. Ses connaissances lui ont permis de réanimer Éthéra après un accident mortel, mais au prix du remplacement de plus de la moitié de son corps par des prothèses bioniques. On apprendra par la suite que son objectif est de retrouver le secret de la résurrection des corps.
