Lori Nelson Spielman (née le 30 avril 1961 à Lansing, Michigan) est une auteure américaine, principalement connue pour son best-seller The Life List, publié par Bantam Books/Random House en juillet 2013 et traduit en 27 langues dans 30 pays. En décembre 2018, deux autres de ses livres ont été publiés – Sweet Forgiveness (Plume, 2015) et Quote Me (Temporary name, 2018) .

Biographie

Spielman est né en 1961, à Lansing, Michigan, le quatrième enfant d'un couple ouvrier catholique – Franc et Joan Nelson – et la première d'entre eux à fréquenter l'université. Après avoir obtenu son diplôme (BA, Central Michigan University ; MA, Michigan State University), elle est devenue orthophoniste puis enseignante à domicile, enseignant à des étudiants souffrant de troubles mentaux ou physiques à domicile ou à l'hôpital.  ;Le métier d'héroïne de son premier livre est exactement cela – enseignant à domicile.

Spielman n'a commencé à écrire qu'après avoir atteint l'âge de 48 ans. C'est en octobre 2009 qu'elle a commencé la première ébauche de son premier livre The Life List ; quatre ans plus tard, il a été publié  En 2015, après avoir écrit et publié son deuxième roman, "Sweet Forgiveness", elle a pris sa retraite de l'enseignement et est devenue écrivain à plein temps.

Nelson Spielman vit à East Lansing avec son mari Bill Spielman. Elle n'a pas d'enfants.
