Liric est un Goth à qui Panoramix a donné de la potion magique pour provoquer les guerres « astérixiennes ». Allié de Cloridric, il le trahit et se proclame chef suprême des Goths, mais il tombe dans un guet-apens tendu par Satiric, son propre beau-frère. Il réussit à renverser Casseurdebric pour être défait à son tour par Electric.

Liric est l’approximation phonétique de lyrique, un registre artistique qui privilégie l'expression poétique et l’exaltation des sentiments personnels, des passions..
