Les Yeux de Tanatloc

Synopsis
Thorgal, Aaricia, et Kriss de Valnor entreprennent un dangereux voyage au cœur de la jungle du pays Qâ à la recherche de Jolan et Pied d'Arbre.
Qu'est devenu Jolan ? Retenu en otage par les Xinjins, il découvre auprès de Tanatloc qu'il dispose de pouvoirs étonnants. Des pouvoirs qui pourraient faire de lui le nouveau dieu de la terre des Xinjins. Contrairement à Ogotaï, Tanatloc fait un usage bénéfique de ses pouvoirs, mais il est mourant.
Les Xinjins contraignent Thorgal et ses compagnons à se mettre à leur service pour mettre fin à la tyrannie d'Ogotaï, autre dieu vivant qui exerce une tyrannie sanguinaire sur la région et menace de réduire les Xinjins en esclavage.
Anecdote
Les Yeux de Tanatloc constitue un polyptyque avec Les Archers, Le Pays Qâ, La Cité du Dieu Perdu, et Entre Terre et Lumière dans le cadre du Cycle Le Grand Pays.
