Inge apprend à Kim que George est le fils du principal investisseur du projet Bételgeuse. Alors qu’un oiseau survole le radeau, Dixon l’abat d’un coup de carabine, sans même savoir si l’oiseau est dangereux ou pas.
Peu après, l’expédition rencontre un premier groupe d’iums perchés dans les branches le long de la rive. Ils jettent des fruits dans la rivière.
Un peu plus loin ,l’expédition monte le camp pour la nuit. Inge propose à Hector de partager sa tente . Steve monte sa tente à proximité de celle de Kim. Pendant la nuit, Hector avoue à Inge qu’il est amoureux de Kim.
