Un gorille nommé Aboro profite de sa position pour piller les fermiers humains en établissant des taxes abusives sur le grain. Il vend ce grain afin de s'enrichir et espère, avec l'or ainsi accumulé, acheter son titre de préfet de la région à la place du préfet local, Augustus, qui est le cousin de Galen. Burke et Virdon, avec l'aide d'un des fils de fermier, décident de reprendre aux gorilles ce qu'ils ont volé. Malheureusement, le fils du fermier est démasqué et tué.
