Vous souvenez-vous des débuts d’Internet ? Non ?
Retournez dans vos manuels d’histoire informatique, bande de galopins…
Tout ceci pour vous remettre en mémoire qu’en 1969 l'ArpaNet (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), produit de l'armée américaine voyait le jour. Ce nom ne vous dit toujours rien ? Et Internet, son fils, vous le connaissez ?

Bref, l'armée américaine travaillerait depuis déjà 6 ans sur GIG, un nouveau réseau encore plus performant et plus sécurisé, baptisé "Œil de Dieu" par ses concepteurs.
Selon le quotidien américain The New York Times, le GIG (Global Information Grid) serait constitué en partie par un réseau de satellites militaires totalement indépendant des réseaux de communications de données utilisés dans le civil.
GIG permettrait une numérisation du champ de bataille, le pentagone pouvant communiquer n'importe quand et n'importe où sur terre avec ses soldats ou ses armes intelligentes, envoyant ou collectant en temps réel des informations y compris audio-visuelles. Le GIG fournira en outre toutes les informations disponibles sur l'ennemi ou le terrain, la météo issues des différentes agences de renseignement civiles et militaires.
