Alya est membre des Rescapés (Remnants). Elle tombe amoureuse de Jacob, et lui aussi tombe amoureux d'elle. Elle ressemble à l'un des anciens amours de Jacob.
Alors que Jacob est seul, marchant dans les cols au-dessus de la vallée, Alya le rejoint et ils s'enlacent pour la première fois. Alya tombe enceinte et donne à Jacob une fille, qu'ils nomment Sofia, en hommage à son ancien amour.

Alya est probablement née entre 1950 et 1960.
