Gibbons est un gangster travaillant au Congo pour le compte du célèbre Al Capone. Ses actions criminelles ayant pour objectif d'enrichir le gang avec des diamants congolais sont déjouées par le jeune reporter belge Tintin. Ce dernier l'arrêta et le rendit aux autorités.

Confusion

Ce personnage ne doit pas être confondu avec W.R. Gibbons qui apparaît dans Le Lotus bleu. Certains fans ne font pas la différence et pensent alors que c'est Gibbons (Tintin au Congo) qui apparaît dans Tintin et l'Alph-Art alors que c'est W.R. Gibbons. Ce sont deux personnages distincts
