Le docteur Cannerts fait une découverte majeure qui lui donne bon espoir de trouver bientôt un antidote au virus. Katie et Jake visionnent les bandes de télésurveillance de l'hôpital restaurées par Jana et mettent enfin un nom sur le vrai Patient zéro. Jana, Suzy, Dennis et Sam espèrent s'échapper de la zone grâce à un tunnel datant de la guerre de Sécession mais l'accès, scellé par un mur, se trouve dans une église.
