Certains membres du personnel Microsoft Australie se sont vus infliger 3 heures au coin et écrire 100 fois "je ne dois pas diffuser un communiqué de presse avant l'heure" (NDLR : le coup de règle sur les doigts a été aboli en 2001 en Australie).

En effet, un communiqué de presse annonçant le passage en RTM (Release To Manufacturing) du Service Pack 2 de Windows XP avait été prématurément publié. Un représentant de Microsoft Australie a donc démenti l'information en précisant que le SP2 n'était pas encore en RTM.

La disponibilité finale mentionnée dans ce communiqué donnait une sortie pour le 26 Août prochain pour la première version, les versions localisées dans 25 langues seront étalées sur les deux mois suivants.

Au final, boulette ou pas, il faut attendre comme prévu.
