Dans la pyramide, se tient Ibémé, qui commande aux Khops, des mutants descendants des habitants irradiés de New York après la guerre nucléaire de 3222.

En réalité Ibémé est la transformation de bouche à oreille de I.B.M.

I.B.M. est un gigantesque ordinateur qui contrôlait tout New-York avant sa destruction, et qui a continué à fonctionner par la suite, adaptant ses programmes à la nouvelle situation, se tranformant peu à peu en  Ibémé au fil du temps, monstre et dieux à la fois commandant aux Khops et oppressant les «Enfants de la Rose».
