Genazzano est une commune italienne d'environ 5 700 habitants, située dans la ville métropolitaine de Rome Capitale, dans la région Latium, en Italie centrale.

Histoire
Son nom provient de son rôle de lieu de villégiature pour l'ancien peuple romain des Genucii. Au Sixte III, la ville de Genazzano a versé une grande partie de ses revenus à la basilique romaine de Sainte-Marie-Majeure. Au famille Colonna qui, depuis son palais baronnial (château), contrôlait la route de Naples à Rome. À la fin du famille Borgia.
Culture
Cette ville d'Italie a été peinte vers 1865 par le peintre allemand naturaliste Oswald Achenbach. Le tableau Une fête à Genazzano qui représente la sortie d'une procession est visible au musée d'Orsay (France).
