Pour assurer sa domination dans le domaine des télécommunications, une société américaine envoie une équipe d'explorateurs à la recherche d'un gisement de diamants, situé dans la mythique cité de Zinj au cœur de la chaîne des Virugnas, à la frontière du Zaïre et du Rwanda. Apres l'échec tragique de la première expédition, une nouvelle équipe, plus performante, est dépêchée sur place.
