Monsieur Freeman est ingénieur des forages pour la société Forex à St-Pierre de la Martinique. Dans La forge de Vulcain, la plate-forme "off shore" de forage de la société pétrolière est menacée par une tempête. Effectivement, d’énormes vagues l’entourent dans un rayon de dix kilomètres : elle doit donc être évacuée. Dépassé par les événements, monsieur Freeman voit d’un mauvais oeil l’arrivée du trio, nos trois comparses s’étant présentés comme étant journalistes de la télévision. Il leur réservera un accueil plutôt explosif.
