Lors d'un entraînement au combat Fidel, le fils de Mangog, perd un bras. Ils partent au marché acquérir un membre de remplacement en bois enchanté lorsqu'ils rencontrent Akka le mi-lion qui s'est évadé du camp d'Esculade où est retenue Larve la soeur de Fidel. Ils organisent une expédition qui les conduira dans le corps d'une géante où se terre Esculade. Après l'avoir vaincu, ils retrouvent Larve saine et sauve.
