Tout en supervisant la livraison d'une collection d'antiquités comme Carter Hall, Hawkman se trouve confronté à un sorcier stéréotypé (avec un chapeau conique décoré d'étoiles et de lunes!). À l'aide de son étrange corbeau et de quelques sorts en latin, le sorcier décolle avec une tablette en pierre d'incantations - ou plutôt, son corbeau. Carter réalise que le sorcier était une illusion et que le corbeau était le véritable sorcier, et Shiera l'avertit de la récente évasion de Konrad Kaslak, leur vieil ennemi. En utilisant un "tour de passe-passe", Hawkman dupe Kaslak et le défait.
