Après l’explosion dans le métro et l’effondrement partiel du tunnel, monsieur Albert remarque les agents de Bellson & Gambler qui sortent dépités du métro, n’ayant rien vu, leur démonstration s’étant mal passée. Il voit ensuite la police embarquer Valérian dans une civière après l’avoir extrait inconscient du tunnel. Il se rend à l’hôpital Saint Antoine et se fait passer pour l’oncle de Valérian, n’hésitant pas à faire passer ce dernier pour un faible d’esprit, fan de science-fiction, qui se prend pour un détective intergalactique.

Une fois sortis de l’hôpital, c’est au restaurant que monsieur Albert annonce à Valérian que cette apparition ne concorde pas avec la description du monstre qui a motivé l’enquête : un monstre boueux, à l’odeur de terre, près d’une mine abandonnée. De plus, ils ne comprennent pas en quoi ces apparitions sont liées à la constellation de Cassiopée où enquête Laureline.

Après le repas, Valérian contacte Laureline pour savoir où en est son enquête, mais .
