Z confronte les membres la JLA à leurs plus grandes peurs: Superman se rend à Metropolis pour empêcher quelqu'un de le tuer puis de dévorer Lois. Flash est piégé sur une lune avec peu d'atmosphère et aucun accès à la Force véloce. Wonder Woman est submergée sans aucun sens de la direction ni aucun terrain solide sur lequel se tenir. Batman fait face à plusieurs Jokers tuant plusieurs victimes. Green Lantern se trouve dans une zone boisée face à un samouraï blindé, et le Martian Manhunter fait face à H'Ronmeer sur le Vieux Mars. Mais ils réaliset que ce sont d'anciennes peurs et les repoussent.
