Il n'a aucun rapport avec un autre Cartapus, qui est d'ailleurs une femme, chargée par César d'espionner le chantier du palais que Cléopâtre lui a promis en échange d'excuses au peuple égyptien, dans le film Astérix et Obélix : Mission Cléopâtre.
