Slot :
Les slots et les sockets permettent de connecter un processeur sur une carte mère. La plupart des sockets et des processeurs actuels sont construits autour de l'architecture Pin Grid Array (PGA), dans laquelle les broches en dessous du processeur sont insérées dans le socket, d'habitude avec la Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) pour faciliter l'installation.


Parmi les processeurs sur Slot 1, nous pouvons remarquer les Celeron 266-›300 (Covington), Celeron 300A-›433 (Mendocino), Celeron 300A-›5331 (Mendocino PGA), Celeron 500A-›1.1GHz1 (Coppermine-128), Pentium Pro, Pentium II 233-›300 (Klamath), Pentium II 266-›450 (Deschutes), et Pentium III 450-›600B (Katmai).
