- Sempron est le nom d'un type de processeur AMD sur socket 754. C'est un Athlon 64 dépourvu des instructions 64-bit et doté d'un cache L2 réduit. En effet le 3100+ est pourvu de 256 Ko de cache alors que le 3300+ est de son côté doté de seulement 128 Ko de cache L2. Il s’agit en fait du core Paris, premièrement décliné en version 0.13µ sur le 3100+ et désormais en version gravée en 0.09µ avec l’arrivée du 3300+. Ce dernier est cadencé à 2 GHz contre les 1.8 GHz du 3100+.
Les autres Sempron socket A ne sont que des Athlon XP renommés.
