La corde à trois bouts de Frugisse tient son nom du légendaire roi magicien qui, dit-on, régna sur Lineh trois éons avant la ratification des Traités des Baronnies. On a décrit l’objet de diverses manières, la plus courante restant celle où trois filins étaient tressés deux à deux à partir de leurs moitiés, créant un cordage singulier de trois parties d’égale longueur. Selon les sources, cette longueur se situe entre six et quatre-vingt-dix-neuf pas.
La corde du roi magicien aurait l’étrange pouvoir de transporter quiconque escalade sa troisième extrémité à n’importe quel endroit où pendrait déjà une corde commune. Mais quand bien même un tel objet existerait vraiment, nul ne saurait aujourd’hui percer les secrets de son fonctionnement.
