Unité de temps d’origine goranaise, représentant un dixième de jour : environ 2 h 25 dans notre monde. Le premier décan commence au lever du soleil, à l’instant où se termine le dixième du jour précédent. L’apogée se situe généralement vers la fin du troisième décan.
C’est une unité utilisée grossièrement par les ignorants, mais avec beaucoup plus de précision par les savants de toutes les nations, qui se réfèrent non pas à un simple cadran solaire, mais à des calculs indiquant la position du levant sur la ville de Goran, selon les époques de l’année. Cette méthode est aussi la seule permettant de définir avec exactitude les changements de décans de nuit – du septième au dixième.
