Omar Ladgham va grandir entre la Tchéquie, les Pays-Bas, la Tunisie et la Turquie. À 20 ans, il se lance dans le cinéma. Après une formation sur le tas qui dure plusieurs années, il va exercer les fonctions d’assistant-réalisateur, régisseur, producteur et réalisateur de courts-métrages de fiction, puis de films institutionnels pour l’UNESCO. Au début des années 2000, il décide de se consacrer exclusivement à l’écriture. Pour France 2, il écrit Frères, trois fois primé au festival de la Rochelle. Pour France 3, il écrit Les Robins des pauvres, primé au festival de Luchon. Pour Canal +, il adapte, avec Jan Kounen, la mini-série Le Vol des cigognes d’après le roman éponyme de Jean-Christophe Grangé. Enfin, pour ARTE, il écrit Printemps tunisien, présenté dans une vingtaine de festivals dans le monde, et primé notamment à Durban, Venise et Vérone. Réside à Paris.
