Valérian est réveillé par un appel de Laureline. Il se rend compte que la voix ne provient pas de la jeune femme (Cynthia) endormie à ses côtés dans son lit à Paris, mais que c’est une communication télépathique de sa coéquipière, depuis la constellation de Cassiopée.
Alors que Valérian tente penaud de justifier ses écarts de conduite, Laureline lui apprend que Mr Albert a fait un rapport à Galaxity et que Cynthia est un espionne de la W.A.A.M qui l’a séduit afin de le surveiller. Elle lui fait part ensuite de ce qu’elle à appris au sujet du vol des 4 forces élémentaires dans le sanctuaire sur Zomuk.
