Depuis ses débuts à l'aube 2009, Monday Morning compte déjà un bon nombre de dates à son actif, distillant sa pop folk aux quatre coins de la Belgique. En 2010, les deux liégeois multiplient les expériences et font petit à petit parler d'eux : prix du jury au tremplin Jyva'Zik, LaSemo festival, Francofolies de Spa, lauréats Puredemo, Grand Tremplin ou encore premières parties des groupes Yew et Puggy... Autant d'occasion de confirmer leur talent prometteur. Parallèlement, le duo sort en septembre 2010 son premier EP 6 titres intitulé "Pleased to meet you", enregistré à Anvers. Depuis janvier 2011, Monday Morning fait partie des groupes soutenus par Ca Balance [...], le programme d'accompagnement musical de la province de Liège, comme l'ont également été Atomique Deluxe, Eté 67, Matt Bioul ou Puggy, entre autres.     [13] 15/02/2021 - Dernière modification le 25/02/2021 The Aero L-29 Delfín (English: Dolphin, NATO reporting name: Maya) is a military jet trainer aircraft that became the standard jet trainer for the air forces of Warsaw Pact nations in the 1960s. It was Czechoslovakia's first locally designed and built jet aircraft. The Delfin served in basic, intermediate and weapons training roles. For this latter mission, they were equipped with hardpoints to carry gunpods, bombs or rockets, and thus armed, Egyptian L-29s were sent into combat against Israeli tanks during the Yom Kippur War. The L-29 was supplanted in the inventory of many of its operators by the Aero L-39 Albatros. More than 2,000 L-29s were supplied to the Soviet Air Force, acquiring the NATO reporting name "Maya." L-29's, along with the newer L-39,were used extensively in ground attack missions in the Nagorno-Karabakh War by Azeri forces. At least 14 were shot down by Armenian air-defences. As a trainer, the L-29 enabled air forces to adopt an "all-through" training on jet aircraft, replacing earlier piston-engined types. On July 16, 1975, a Czechoslovak Air Force L-29 shot down a Polish civilian biplane piloted by Dionizy Bielański that was attempting to defect to the West. On October 2, 2007, an unmodified L-29 was used for the world’s first jet flight powered solely by 100% biodiesel fuel. Pilots Carol Sugars and Douglas Rodante flew their Delphin Jet from Stead Airport, Reno, Nevada to Leesburg International Airport, Leesburg, Florida in order to promote environmentally friendly fuels in aviation. Between September 10–14, 2008, two L-29s took first and second at the Reno Air Races. Both L-29s consistently posted laps at or above 500 miles per hour.     [14] 03/08/2013 - Dernière modification le 25/02/2021 The original 50 cm statuette of the Little Princess (Kiskirálylány) statue sitting on the railings of the Danube promenade in Budapest, Hungary was created by László Marton (1925-2008) Munkácsy- and Kossuth Prize-winning sculptor in 1972. The artist was inspired by his eldest daughter born from his first marriage. She often played in the Tabán wearing a princess costume and a crown made out of newspaper by her father, and at home as well, pretending her bathrobes were a mantle. This image prompted her father, the artist in the creation of this little statue. László Marton writes: " Évike born from my first marriage, at the age of 5, was playing in a little princess costume in the Tabán playground. When I saw it, I immediately had the subject matter. Titled "Little Princess" I sculpted it as well. It was placed in an elegant location on the Danube promenade. Became a symbol of Budapest." "I modeled it after my own daughter - says László Marton in his studio (2007) - she was maybe six years old and playing in the garden. She dressed as a princess: laid a bathrobe on her shoulders and put a crown on her head. I managed to capture this moment and immediately felt that this was a successful work of art. Years later, the capital requested a statue from me. I immediately thought of the "Little Princess" and luckily we managed to find the place where the statue feels good." A larger size copy of this statue was placed on the Danube promenade in 1990, and a second copy in Tapolca, the artist's hometown. A copy of the same statue stands in Japan too - donated by the artist - in front of the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space cultural center's concert hall. I wished to have the statue to the left of the image and the Buda Castle on the right. This would have further expanded in the direction of the gaze of the statue, but I had to right a very large group of tourists who had decided to camp on site and jen did not have time to wait for them to leave .

It is home to the Budapest Opera Ball, a society event dating back to 1886. Before the closure of "Népszínház" in Budapest, it was the second largest opera building in Budapest. Today it is the largest Opera building in Budapest and Hungary. History Designed by Miklós Ybl, a major figure of 19th century Hungarian architecture, the construction lasted from 1875 to 1884 and was funded by the city of Budapest and by Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria-Hungary. The Hungarian Royal Opera House (as it was known then) opened to the public on the September 27, 1884. Many important artists were guests here including Gustav Mahler the composer who was director in Budapest from 1887 to 1891 and Otto Klemperer who was music director for three years from 1947 to 1950. In the 1970s the state of the building prompted the Hungarian State to order a major renovation which eventually began in 1980 and lasted till 1984. The reopening was held exactly 100 years after the original opening, on the September 27, 1984. Overview It is a richly-decorated building and is considered one of the architect's masterpieces. It was built in neo-Renaissance style, with elements of Baroque. Ornamentation includes paintings and sculptures by leading figures of Hungarian art including Bertalan Székely, Mór Than and Károly Lotz. Although in size and capacity it is not among the greatest, in beauty and the quality of acoustics the Budapest Opera House is considered to be amongst the finest opera houses in the world. The auditorium holds 1261 seats. It is horseshoe shaped and – according to measurements done in the 1970s by a group of international engineers – has the third best acoustics in Europe after La Scala in Milan and the Palais Garnier in Paris. Although many opera houses have been built since, the Budapest Opera House is still among the best in terms of the acoustics. In front of the building are statues of Ferenc Erkel and Franz Liszt. Liszt is the best known Hungarian composer. Erkel composed the Hungarian national anthem, and was the first music director of the Opera House; he was also founder of the Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra. Each year the season lasts from September to the end of June and besides opera performances the Opera House is home to the Hungarian National Ballet. The secondary building of the Hungarian State Opera is Erkel theatre. It is a much larger building that also hosts opera and ballet performances during the opera season.   • Ancien sanatorium de Borgoumont (sanatorium du Basil)

    [17] 05/04/2015 - Dernière modification le 06/02/2021 Construit à partir de 1900 à l’initiative du directeur du laboratoire bactériologique Ernest Malvoz, le sanatorium accueillit ses premiers patients en 1903. La finalité d'un tel établissement est le traitement de la tuberculose et de certaines maladies pulmonaires infectieuses chroniques. Le sanatorium est aussi un moyen d'isoler et d'éloigner les personnes contaminées du reste de la population. Ils sont souvent réservés à une classe aisée. À cette époque la tuberculose est bel et bien une maladie incurable et mortelle qui touche toutes les couches sociales de la population. Le séjour au sanatorium a pour objectif de soulager les malades et d'adoucir les symptômes de cette terrible « peste blanche ». On parle de 100 millions de morts au cours du 20e siècle. De 1903 à 1941, le sanatorium est inévitablement un mouroir, comme tous les autres, du fait que la pénicilline n'était pas encore découverte. Peu de personnes s'en sortaient vivantes et inévitablement, le domaine est empreint d'une grande tristesse. Bien que le taux de mortalité soit extrêmement élevé, il est étonnant de constater qu'au contraire d'autres établissements similaires il n'y ait pas un petit cimetière en annexe du logis. De 1941 à 1947 les traitements s'améliorent. Après la guerre, avec la découverte des premiers traitements antibiotiques, les médecins pourront petit à petit éteindre les foyers infectieux et diminuer drastiquement la mortalité. Cette maladie n'appartient, hélas, pas au passé et selon l'OMS, en 2018, 10 millions de personnes ont contracté la tuberculose et 1,5 million en sont mortes (dont 251 000 porteurs du VIH). Plus tard, le bâtiment est reconverti en centre de revalidation et en maison de repos, sous le nom "centre Princesse Astrid". En 2003, le sanatorium de Borgoumont est repris par le centre hospitalier "Peltzer - La Tourelle" de Verviers. Entre 2010 et 2013, le site est utilisé par Fedasil, en matière d'accueil de demandeurs d'asile. A partir de 2013, le bâtiment est à l'abandon. Outre les dégradations naturelles, il est vandalisé par de pseudo artistes utilisant les bombes de couleurs comme certains animaux leur urine, des rave party, ou encore certains pratiquants de l'urbex (exploration de lieux abandonnés). Fenêtres éclatées, tuyaux arrachés, murs tagués, portes défoncées ... l'intérieur du sanatorium a été saccagé. En 2018, un compromis de vente est signé et une demande de permis d’urbanisme est introduite. Le projet prévoit l’aménagement d’un appart-hôtel de luxe (cinq étoiles), ainsi que cent et deux appartements de tourisme plutôt familial. Le caractère unique de ce bâtiment, le clocher central et la promenade couverte en terrasse seraient conservés. La consultation publique à propos du certificat d’urbanisme demandé par le nouveau propriétaire de l’ex-sanatorium est seulement clôturée en août 2019 Situé au-dessus du hameau, dans une clairière au milieu des bois à une altitude de 420 mètres, cet imposant immeuble d'une longueur d'environ 150 mètres est orienté plein sud et son architecture concave augmente l'absorption de la chaleur, de l'air et de la lumière indispensables à la thérapie soignant la tuberculose. L'édifice est construit en pierres du pays ( moellons de grès et colombages avec pierres de taille en angles) avec une structure en béton armé. L'intérieur est agencé selon une architecture hygiéniste : éviter la poussière en inclinant les surfaces, faciliter le nettoyage en soudant les pieds des meubles au sol, favoriser le renouvellement de l'air ambiant avec un système d'aération. Les seuls endroits de divertissement autorisés étaient le jardin d'hiver et la salle de spectacle. Pour tromper leur ennui les malades avaient, étonnamment, le droit de fumer… ce qui nous semble incroyable aujourd'hui. On note aussi la présence d’un petit clocher dressé au milieu du bâtiment. À l'entrée du domaine, se trouve une construction originale en grès, colombages et ardoises traversée par la route d'accès à l'ancien sanatorium. Passe un homme qui marche à grands pas, à grands pas, passe un homme qui ne les voit pas. Le deuxième dans la nuit glacée, le deuxième glisse, il est pressé. Le troisième met le pied dessus, le troisième n'a rien aperçu. Dans la neige y avait deux souliers, dans la neige, qui étaient oubliés. Une femme qui regarde mieux, -garde mieux, une femme ne croit pas ses yeux. Le prochain dit: "Ils sont trop petits". Le prochain trop vite est reparti. Combien d'hommes qui passent sans voir? Combien d'hommes qui n'ont pas d'espoir? Quelle chance, je suis arrivé! Quelle chance, je les ai trouvés! J'ai couru nu-pieds tant de chemins, j'ai couru, je les prends dans ma main. Je les chauffe, ils sont encore froids, je les chauffe en les gardant sur moi. O miracle, les petits souliers, ô miracle, sont juste à mon pied! Il servait de lieu de promenade et aussi d’abri pour les chasseurs. De là, Un souterrain permettait aux villageois d’accéder au château. Témoin des mouvements de l’histoire tels que l’occupation du pays d’Outre-Meuse en 1632, la révolution française et les deux grandes guerres mondiales où il devint lieu d’hébergement des troupes. En 1940, l’ombre noire du nazisme envahit nos contrées et le Domaine est réquisitionné par l’occupant qui crée un tristement célèbre lebesborn (Heim Ardennen) en 1942 (d'abord centre d’accueil pour les filles-mères qui accouchaient dans l’anonymat et qui abandonnaient le nourrisson à la nurserie SS. Il devient un centre de reproduction aryenne, ces enfants destinés à constituer la future élite d’un troisième Reich). Une cinquantaine d’enfants y sont nés. La « Fontaine de vie » de Wégimont n'a cependant jamais répondu aux attentes de ses concepteurs. Elle connut, en effet, bon nombre de problèmes pratiques (notamment une pénurie de sages femmes) et se heurta aussi à l'hostilité de la population locale. Le « Lebensborn » soumagnard ferma définitivement ses portes le 1er septembre 1944. Les mères et les enfants qui y séjournaient furent, semble-t-il, transférés à Wiesbaden en Allemagne. Après et pendant près de vingt ans, le château de Wégimont a servi entre autres de maison destinée aux vacances des pensionnés. Le parc, lui, était réservé aux enfants et aux promeneurs. La nuit du 24 au 25 mai 1964, un incendie a ravagé l’aile centrale du château et les extrémités des ailes latérales, faisant 17 morts. Aujourd'hui, seule la partie centrale manque à l’édifice.
