Ce monument à Bosfagne commémore le crash d'un bombardier britannique "Halifax" abattu le 04 juillet 1943.

Il y a cependant certaines incohérences...

L'hélice
Le Halifax DT784 est un quadrimoteur, composé de quatre groupe d'hélices à trois pales. Cette hélice comporte quatre pales; il s'agit probablement de celle du bimoteur B26 Marauder abattu en avril 1945.

L'équipage
La plaque commémorative fait mention de l'équipage suivant:
Sergent Edward Macintosh (mécanicien de bord)
Flight Sergeant canadien Charles Preston
Sergent David Lock (mitrailleur)
Sergent Frederick Walton (mitrailleur)
... ces personnes composent en réalité l'équipage du Halifax II HR734 qui s'est écrasé à Loncin le 04 juillet 1943.

Le bon équipage du Halifax DT784 abattu le 04 juillet 1943 à Bosfagne serait:
Flight Sergeant A. Morley (RAAF) Pilote (†)
Sergent F. Sadler (†)
Les autres membres d'équipages qui ont survécu au crash (mais ont été fait prisonnier) seraient donc:
Sergent W. R. Redhead
Sergent R. L. Watson
Sergent R. J. West
Sergent R. C. Samways
Sergent J. R. Barlow
