Hermantown: Hermantown est une municipalité américaine située dans le comté de Saint Louis au Minnesota.

Géographie

La municipalité s'étend en 2010 sur une superficie de 34,37 milles carrés (89,02 km²), dont 0,02 mille carré (0,05 km²) d'étendues d'eau.

Histoire

La localité est d'abord connue comme la « town de Herman ». Elle est dévastée par de grands feux de forêt en 1918 mais elle vite reconstruite. En 1937, le gouvernement fédéral y construit environ 80 maisons de briques, rares dans la région, dans le cadre du Projet Jackson. Dans les années 1950, le bourg poursuit son développement grâce à l'arrivée d'habitants de Duluth. Menacée d'être annexée par cette dernière, Hermantown devient une municipalité (city) en 1975.
