Depuis la bataille de Malaisie, la Thaïlande est alliée au Mikado (L’empereur du Japon). Le colonel Akashito a le commandement d’un camp en Thaïlande où des essais sont réalisés en vue de la construction de fusées, de la même manière que l’armée allemande fabriquait et testait ses missiles à Peenemünde.
Un jeune lieutenant, Iko Mitsushido, travaille notamment sous les ordres de Akashito.
Le colonel Akashito supervise dans un de ces centres la conception d’un prototype de fusée "Superkamikaze", arme du désespoir ou du suicide. Un des objectifs est la calotte glacière, les composantes thermiques de l’engin provoquant alors une gigantesque explosion et la fonte massive des glaces.
